So we cannot request a private autopsy unless the STATE MEDICAL EXAMINER/STATE CRIME LAB denies jurisdiction.
The State cannot deny jurisdiction when they have never heard of Vernon Alva McKay.
The Craighead County Coroner has provided law enforcement with "a" report from the State Crime Lab/Medical Examiner. .
The State Crime Lab now has a copy of these records for their files since they did not have them before and they did not create this report.
There are a lot of questions surrounding this but here is the FOIA information that the Craighead County Coroner's office supplied.
Please look at the charges page. The Medical Examiner has not denied jurisdiction.
Please look at the dates of medical visits... where are November and December 2016?
A friend went with me to pick these up and when we asked if the Coroner's office will release jurisdiction, his comment is that no autopsy will ever happen basically. I will not quote him.
Finally, the Deputy Coroner informed me and the friend that Dr. Kokes is retired and has been for a very long time. Well, that turns out to not be true. Dr. Kokes is retired as Medical Director but still works in the office.
